Meta Messenger is a messaging tool that allows a company’s Facebook Page or Instagram Business account to react to customer inquiries regarding its goods and services. The customer must initiate conversations between a consumer or prospective customer and a company. Businesses and customers can use the Messenger Platform for free.
A customer messages your company while logged in to Facebook or Instagram or viewing your mobile app or website using a Meta plugin. Your company can utilize the Messenger Platform to handle customer messages by sending automated responses, having a live agent react, or combining the two.
If you attempt to communicate with friends and get the message “This individual is inaccessible on Messenger,” they may have blocked you. It’s also possible that the user has been banned from the Messenger service, canceled their account, or erased it altogether.
However, the Support Center does not have information on every problem message. For instance, when you open the Messenger app, it notifies you, “This person is unavailable on Messenger.” What does this mean? If you believe anything may be wrong, look at our comprehensive guide that explains what the error note means and how to solve it.
What Does Message Unavailable Mean on Messenger?
If you see the message “This individual is Unavailable on Messenger,” it indicates that you cannot continue the conversation with that person because of the following reasons:
- You cannot communicate with another person because that person blocked you on Messenger or Facebook. Inspect our post that explains how to recognize the warning signs of being blocked on Facebook if you are unsure whether or not you have been banned.
- The individual has either canceled their Messenger account or erased it.
- The individual can no longer use Facebook or Messenger – Disabled account
If these occur, you can see the error message “This person is unavailable on Messenger.” You will either need to persuade the individual you wish to talk to unblock you or create a new Messenger account to get past this limitation, which, regrettably, cannot be circumvented on your own.
Suppose we exclude the possibility that there was only a technical error. If you know that you have not been banned and your buddy is still using Messenger, but you still get the error notice, try logging out of your account and then back into it. You may try removing and installing the Messenger app if it doesn’t work. This might be the solution to the problem.
Take note that you may also not receive the message “This person is unavailable on Messenger.” Any attempt to send a message will result in a red error that reads “Couldn’t transmit.” Both error signals, however, are caused by the same underlying problems.
How do we fix this individual who is unavailable on Messenger?
If your friend’s account is not disabled and didn’t block you, there are usually Facebook technical problems or a problem with the cache. In that case, you can try to clear app data by going to Phone Settings, then Apps, then Manage Apps, then Clear Data (see image). You can also remove the Messanger app from your phone and reinstall it.
Questions That Are Typically Asked
- What does it mean when the Messenger phone app says that it cannot access this message?
It’s possible that they temporarily canceled their account, banned your messages, or that they blocked you entirely. Facebook Messenger has received an update with a new feature that asks the other user to confirm whether or not they are ready to talk with the user in question. If this is not done, the user may have deactivated their account.
2. My communication has not been delivered or received in this instance. Even though it displays two notifications that read “message inaccessible on this app,” I do not believe this is because the app is being restricted. I think it’s possible that they removed them, but I’d appreciate it if you could verify whether or not that is probably, most certainly, the situation.
Once you delete a message, it is permanently removed from your side of the discussion. Unfortunately, you cannot restore a Facebook message or conversation you previously deleted.
3. Is it possible to recover messages from Google Hangout Chat that were accidentally deleted?
If the communication was previously archived, you might follow the steps below to undo archive it, but if you deleted it, it is impossible to recover it. https://support.google.com/hangouts/thread/3672278?hl=en
4. How can I find the history information that my spouse has removed from our laptop or iPhone without paying to do so?
If he removed it, you could not access it.
5. Why does it show this person is unavailable but not blocked on Messenger?
The user’s account has been deactivated – If the individual you’re contacting has deactivated their Messenger and Facebook accounts, you won’t be able to chat with them. You will see the notification “This Person is Unavailable on Messenger” until they reactivate their account.
6. What does it imply when someone claims they are unavailable on Messenger?
The user had their Facebook or Messenger account deleted. It’s also possible that your friend deactivated their account for security reasons. If that’s the case, the person’s account will be permanently deactivated on Messenger, which means you’ll almost certainly never contact them again using this chat.
