On Upwork, when you submit a job proposal, there is no fixed expiration date for proposals. However, here’s how it works:
- Job Posting Expiration:
- Most job postings stay active for 30 days unless the client manually closes them or hires someone.
- The job automatically expires after 30 days if the client does not act.
- Proposal Status & Cancellation:
- Your proposal remains active as long as the job is open.
- If the client closes the job without hiring anyone, your proposal will be removed.
- If the job expires due to inactivity, the proposal also disappears.
- Getting Connects Back:
- You DO NOT get your Connects back if the client hires someone else or ignores your proposal.
- You only get your Connects refunded if:
- The client cancels the job without hiring anyone.
- Upwork removes the job due to a policy violation.
So, if the client hires another freelancer, you lose the Connects used for that proposal.
